Description

The Philly cheesesteak is a delicious sandwich from Philadelphia, featuring thinly sliced ribeye steak, sautéed onions, and melted cheese in a soft hoagie roll.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ribeye steak
  • 8 ounces Provolone cheese
  • 1 large Onion, sliced
  • 1 large Bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 Hoagie rolls
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by freezing the ribeye steak for 30 minutes, then slice it thinly against the grain.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and cook the sliced ribeye steak for 3-5 minutes until browned.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the sliced onions and bell peppers for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables and mix well.
  5. Lay provolone cheese slices over the mixture, cover the skillet, and let it melt for 2-3 minutes before serving in hoagie rolls.
