Description

A traditional Persian dessert served during the New Year celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of rose water
  • 1/4 cup of chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup of dried fruits
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water.
  2. Boil the rice in water until soft.
  3. In a separate pot, heat the milk and sugar until dissolved.
  4. Add the cooked rice to the milk mixture.
  5. Stir in rose water, nuts, dried fruits, and cardamom.
  6. Cook on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Pour into serving dishes and let cool.
