Description
A traditional Persian dessert served during the New Year celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of rice
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of rose water
- 1/4 cup of chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup of dried fruits
- 1 teaspoon of cardamom
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water.
- Boil the rice in water until soft.
- In a separate pot, heat the milk and sugar until dissolved.
- Add the cooked rice to the milk mixture.
- Stir in rose water, nuts, dried fruits, and cardamom.
- Cook on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour into serving dishes and let cool.
Notes
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
- Garnish with additional nuts and dried fruits if desired.
