- 1 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract (for filling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until frothy.
- Add granulated sugar gradually while beating until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in the almond flour mixture and peppermint extract.
- Add red food coloring to achieve desired color.
- Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the macarons sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until set.
- Let cool completely before filling.
- Beat butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and peppermint extract for filling.
- Sandwich the filling between two macaron shells.

- Use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements.
- Allow macarons to cool completely before removing from the baking sheet.
