Instructions

  2. Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until frothy.
  4. Add granulated sugar gradually while beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in the almond flour mixture and peppermint extract.
  6. Add red food coloring to achieve desired color.
  7. Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Let the macarons sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until set.
  10. Let cool completely before filling.
  11. Beat butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and peppermint extract for filling.
  12. Sandwich the filling between two macaron shells.
