Ingredients
- Beef sirloin: 1 lb (450 g), thinly sliced against the grain.
- Bell peppers: 2 (1 red and 1 green), sliced into strips.
- Onions: 1 large, sliced.
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup (60 ml).
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced.
- Ginger: 1 tablespoon, minced.
- Cornstarch: 1 tablespoon.
- Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons (for cooking).
- Black pepper: to taste.
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients by washing and slicing the bell peppers and onions, and thinly slicing the beef sirloin against the grain.
- Marinate the beef sirloin with soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper for 15-30 minutes.
- In a skillet, heat vegetable oil and stir-fry the sliced onions for 4-5 minutes until tender and slightly caramelized.
- Increase heat and sear the marinated beef in the skillet for 2-3 minutes without stirring, then stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until cooked through.
- Add sliced bell peppers to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp, then return the cooked beef to the skillet and mix well.
- Give a final stir and cook for another minute, then serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
- Choosing the right cut of meat is essential; flank steak or ribeye can also be used.
