- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the peanut butter mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Frost with peanut butter frosting once cooled.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips to the batter.
- Use creamy or crunchy peanut butter based on preference.
