Description
A delicious patty melt topped with a secret sauce.
Ingredients
- Ground beef – 1 pound
- Onion – 1 large, sliced
- Cheese – 4 slices, preferably Swiss
- Rye bread – 8 slices
- Butter – 4 tablespoons
- Secret sauce – 1/2 cup (mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and spices)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté onions until caramelized.
- Form ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook patties in the skillet until desired doneness.
- Place cheese on top of patties to melt.
- Spread secret sauce on one side of each slice of rye bread.
- Assemble sandwiches with patty, onions, and another slice of bread.
- Butter the outside of the sandwiches and grill until golden brown.
- Slice and serve hot.

- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Use any cheese of your choice.
- Toast bread for extra crunch.
