Description

Pasta with meatballs is a classic dish that combines seasoned meatballs with pasta, creating a comforting and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti: 400 grams (14 oz)
  • Ground beef: 500 grams (1 lb)
  • Breadcrumbs: 100 grams (1 cup)
  • Egg: 1 large
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Marinara sauce: 500 grams (about 2 cups)
  • Parmesan cheese: 50 grams (1/2 cup), grated
  • Fresh basil: A handful, for garnish
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons (for cooking)
  • Salt: To taste
  • Pepper: To taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, pour in marinara sauce and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the browned meatballs back into the skillet, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  5. Combine the cooked meatballs and sauce with the spaghetti, or serve the meatballs over the spaghetti. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or plant-based meat.
  • Experiment with different pasta shapes like fettuccine or penne.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
