Ingredients

- 1 loaf of French bread, cubed
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for topping
Instructions
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Place the cubed French bread in the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the mixture over the bread, making sure to coat all pieces.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar on top and broil for 1-2 minutes to caramelize.
Notes
- Use stale bread for best results.
- Feel free to add fruits like berries or bananas.
- Can be served with maple syrup.
