Description
This recipe makes irresistibly soft and buttery Olive Garden-style breadsticks.
Ingredients

- 2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5–6 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, for brushing
- Garlic salt, to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Add melted butter and salt to the mixture.
- Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a long stick and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover the breadsticks and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add herbs to the dough.
- Serve with marinara sauce or garlic dip.
