Nutella-Filled Chocolate Chunk Cookies are a delightful treat combining rich chocolate and creamy Nutella, offering a gooey surprise in every bite.

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 2 cups (240 g)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/2 cup (50 g)
  • Baking soda: 1 teaspoon (5 g)
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (3 g)
  • Butter: 1 cup (226 g), unsalted and softened
  • Brown sugar: 1 cup (220 g), packed
  • Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup (100 g)
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons (10 ml)
  • Chocolate chunks: 1 cup (170 g)
  • Nutella: 1/2 cup (150 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and mix on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chunks using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  7. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough, flatten it, place a dollop of Nutella in the center, and wrap the dough around it to form a ball.
  8. Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a chewier cookie, use more brown sugar than granulated sugar.
  • Consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes if it’s too sticky.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
  • Frozen cookies can last up to three months.
