Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 2 cups (240 g)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/2 cup (50 g)
- Baking soda: 1 teaspoon (5 g)
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (3 g)
- Butter: 1 cup (226 g), unsalted and softened
- Brown sugar: 1 cup (220 g), packed
- Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup (100 g)
- Eggs: 2 large
- Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons (10 ml)
- Chocolate chunks: 1 cup (170 g)
- Nutella: 1/2 cup (150 g)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and mix on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chunks using a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough, flatten it, place a dollop of Nutella in the center, and wrap the dough around it to form a ball.
- Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a chewier cookie, use more brown sugar than granulated sugar.
- Consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes if it’s too sticky.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
