Instructions

  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in milk, vanilla, and almond extract.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Once cooled, layer the cakes and decorate with mixed berries and powdered sugar.
