Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add softened butter, vanilla, and egg; blend until smooth.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet.
- Add a small amount of fruit preserves to the center of each shape.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
- Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
