Description
Nanaimo bars are a no-bake dessert bar with a creamy filling and a chocolate topping.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup custard powder
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the softened butter, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder.
- Add graham cracker crumbs and shredded coconut; stir until combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9 inch pan.
- In another bowl, mix custard powder, powdered sugar, and 1/2 cup softened butter until smooth.
- Spread the custard mixture over the graham cracker layer.
- Melt the dark chocolate and remaining butter together; pour over the custard layer.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Store bars in an airtight container in the fridge.
- They can be frozen for up to 3 months.
- Use vegan butter for a dairy-free version.
