Description

Mozzarella stuffed soft pretzels are a delicious twist on a classic snack. They are soft, cheesy, and perfect for dipping.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour and salt to the mixture. Knead until smooth.
  3. Cover and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Divide dough into pieces and roll into ropes.
  6. Wrap each piece around a mozzarella stick.
  7. Boil water and baking soda in a pot.
  8. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then remove.
  9. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
