Description

A classic dessert made with rice, milk, and sugar, reminiscent of mom’s kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water.
  2. In a pot, bring milk to a boil.
  3. Add rice, sugar, and salt to the pot.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, beat the eggs and stir in vanilla and cinnamon.
  6. Gradually add the rice mixture to the egg mixture.
  7. Return to the pot and cook for 5 more minutes.
  8. Add raisins if desired and stir well.
  9. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For creamier pudding, use whole milk.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
  • Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
