Description
Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Delight is a refreshing and creamy dessert that combines the coolness of mint with the sweetness of chocolate, perfect for hot days or any time you crave something delicious.
Ingredients
- Heavy cream: 2 cups (480 ml)
- Whole milk: 1 cup (240 ml)
- Granulated sugar: 3/4 cup (150 g)
- Fresh mint leaves: 1 cup, packed (about 30-40 leaves)
- Chocolate chips: 1 cup (170 g), semi-sweet or dark
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon (1.5 g)
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients: heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, fresh mint leaves, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt.
- In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm.
- Add fresh mint leaves to the warm mixture, cover, and let steep for about 30 minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl, pressing the mint leaves to extract flavor. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Cool the mixture to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Add chocolate chips during the last few minutes of churning.
- Transfer the mixture to an airtight container, smooth the top, and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh mint for the best flavor.
- Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for variety.
- Allow enough freezing time for the best texture.
