  • Chocolate chips: 1 cup (170 g), semi-sweet or dark
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon (1.5 g)

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, fresh mint leaves, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm.
  3. Add fresh mint leaves to the warm mixture, cover, and let steep for about 30 minutes.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl, pressing the mint leaves to extract flavor. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  5. Cool the mixture to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
