Creamy make-ahead mashed potatoes perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 5 lbs potatoes
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Peel and cut potatoes into chunks.
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender.
- Drain and return potatoes to pot.
- Add butter, milk, and sour cream.
- Mash until smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer to a baking dish and cover.
- Refrigerate until ready to bake.
Notes
- Can be made up to 2 days in advance.
- Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 30 minutes.
- For extra flavor, add garlic or cheese.
