Description

Maggiano’s style lasagna is a rich and hearty Italian dish featuring layers of pasta, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce to the meat mixture and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish.
  7. Add a layer of noodles, followed by a layer of the ricotta mixture, and a layer of mozzarella.
  8. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  10. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit meat and add vegetables.
  • You can prepare this dish a day in advance and refrigerate before baking.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
