- Butter: 1 cup (unsalted, 226 g, melted)
- Eggs: 2 large
- Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons (10 ml)
- Baking soda: 1 teaspoon (5 g)
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (3 g)
- Chocolate chips: 1 cup (170 g, semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, mixing until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Be careful not to overmix the dough to avoid tough cookies.
- Use measuring cups and spoons for accurate ingredient measurements.
- Always preheat your oven for even baking.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet to help them set.
