  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and cornstarch.
  3. Dip marinated chicken into the egg, then coat with the flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
  5. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix gochujang, honey, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
  7. Toss fried chicken in the sauce until well coated.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
