Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup colored sugar (purple, green, gold)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add yeast mixture, butter, eggs, and vanilla to dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll dough into a rectangle and shape it into a circle.
  8. Place the cake on a baking sheet and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool and decorate with colored sugar.
