Delicious Italian cream sheet cake with a rich flavor and creamy frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a sheet cake pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk, starting and ending with flour.
  7. Stir in vanilla, coconut, and walnuts.
  8. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool before frosting.

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
  • Can be topped with additional coconut if desired.
