Description

Indian butter chicken is a flavorful dish made with tender chicken in a creamy tomato sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, and turmeric for 1 hour.
  2. Heat butter in a pan and sauté onion until golden brown.
  3. Add garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in tomato puree and simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Mix in heavy cream and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and garnish with cilantro.
