Indian butter chicken is a flavorful dish made with tender chicken in a creamy tomato sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, and turmeric for 1 hour.
- Heat butter in a pan and sauté onion until golden brown.
- Add garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute.
- Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato puree and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Mix in heavy cream and cook for 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and garnish with cilantro.
