Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and cocoa powder.
  6. Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture over the batter.
  7. Pour hot water over the entire dish; do not stir.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is set.
  9. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
