Ingredients
- Chicken thighs: 4 pieces (bone-in, skin-on for best flavor)
- Honey: 1/3 cup (about 113 grams)
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup (about 60 milliliters)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Fresh ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated
- Sesame oil: 1 tablespoon (about 15 milliliters)
- Green onions: 2, sliced (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper: to taste
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by whisking together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken thighs and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the honey garlic sauce by reserving some marinade and simmering it in a saucepan until it thickens.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the marinated chicken thighs skin-side down for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the chicken, pour remaining marinade over it, and transfer the skillet to the oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, garnish with green onions, and serve over rice or with vegetables.
