Description

Delicious homemade heart-shaped strawberry pop tarts.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add chilled butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Stir in cold water until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into heart shapes.
  6. Place half of the hearts on a baking sheet.
  7. Add a spoonful of strawberry jam to the center of each heart.
  8. Top with another heart shape and seal the edges with a fork.
  9. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing.
  12. Drizzle icing over cooled pop tarts.
