A classic homemade eggnog recipe perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients

- 6 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and heavy cream.
- Add the vanilla extract and ground nutmeg.
- If using, stir in the bourbon or rum.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Serve in glasses and sprinkle additional nutmeg on top.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon or rum.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
