This homemade chicken stroganoff recipe features tender chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce served over pasta.

- 1 pound chicken breast, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces egg noodles
Instructions
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add onions and garlic; sauté until soft.
- Add chicken; cook until browned.
- Add mushrooms and cook until tender.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture; stir well.
- Pour in chicken broth; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat and stir in sour cream.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles.
Notes
- You can use any type of mushrooms you like.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
- For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
