Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Add yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a cloth. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf in a greased pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes.
- Cool before slicing.
Notes
- Use warm water, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- You can add herbs or cheese for extra flavor.
- Store bread in a bread box or plastic bag to keep fresh.
