Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion, carrots, and celery. Cook until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add ground beef and pork. Brown the meat.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and red wine.
- Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Add milk and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
- Serve over pasta or use in lasagna.

- For a deeper flavor, let it simmer longer.
- Use fresh herbs if available.
