Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion, carrots, and celery. Cook until softened.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add ground beef and pork. Brown the meat.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and red wine.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
  7. Simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
  8. Add milk and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  9. Serve over pasta or use in lasagna.
