Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup red velvet cake batter (for hidden heart)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  7. Pour half of the chocolate batter into the loaf pan.
  8. Add spoonfuls of red velvet cake batter in the center.
  9. Cover with remaining chocolate batter.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let cool before slicing.
