Ingredients

- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, heavy cream, butter, and corn syrup.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture reaches soft ball stage (about 240°F).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Fold in diced apples and nuts.
- Pour mixture into a greased pan and let it cool completely.
- Cut into squares and serve.
