Ingredients

  • Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
  • Potatoes: 4 medium-sized, peeled and thinly sliced
  • Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Cheese: 2 cups of shredded cheddar or your favorite cheese
  • Cream of mushroom soup: 1 can (10.5 oz or 300 g)
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Prep all ingredients by peeling and slicing the potatoes, chopping the onion, and mincing the garlic.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the beef mixture, and half of the cream of mushroom soup. Repeat the layers.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
