  • Beef broth: 1 cup (240 ml)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions, roll each into a ball, and flatten into a patty about 1 inch thick.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the hamburger steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
  4. In the same skillet, pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer, scraping the bottom of the pan.
  5. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, add it to the simmering broth, and stir until the gravy thickens.
  6. Return the cooked hamburger steaks to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and let simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes before serving.
