Description
A delicious and hearty hamburger steak served with rich gravy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook patties until browned on both sides.
- Remove the patties and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Bring to a simmer and add cornstarch mixed with water to thicken.
- Return patties to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with gravy.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
- Feel free to add mushrooms to the gravy.
