Description

A delicious and hearty hamburger steak served with rich gravy.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook patties until browned on both sides.
  4. Remove the patties and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Bring to a simmer and add cornstarch mixed with water to thicken.
  7. Return patties to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with gravy.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
  • Feel free to add mushrooms to the gravy.
