Description

A rich and decadent German chocolate pie with layers of chocolate and coconut.


Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, and butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir until the mixture is smooth and starts to boil.
  4. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, stirring until melted.
  5. Add egg yolks, vanilla, coconut, and pecans. Mix well.
  6. Pour filling into the pie crust.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until set.
  8. Let cool before serving.
