Description

Delicious homemade fresh mint ice cream.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk, sugar, and mint leaves over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat and let mint steep for 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture to remove mint leaves.
  4. Add cream and vanilla extract, then mix well.
  5. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  6. Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. If using, fold in chopped chocolate before transferring to a container.
  8. Freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger mint flavor, use more mint leaves.
  • Make sure the mixture is very cold before churning.
