Description
A traditional Filipino Thanksgiving dish featuring roasted turkey and a variety of local sides.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (10–12 lbs)
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup calamansi juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup sautéed vegetables (carrots, peas, and corn)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Marinate the turkey in soy sauce, calamansi juice, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper for at least 4 hours.
- Stuff the turkey with cooked rice and sautéed vegetables.
- Rub butter all over the turkey.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast for 2-3 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve with additional sautéed vegetables and rice.
Notes
- Adjust marinating time for more flavor.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Pair with traditional Filipino sauces like lechon sauce.
