Description

This easy breakfast cheese danish is a delicious pastry filled with cream cheese and topped with a light glaze.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2 tbsp milk for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out puff pastry sheets on a floured surface.
  3. Cut each sheet into squares.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk.
  5. Place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a triangle.
  7. Beat the egg with milk to create an egg wash.
  8. Brush the tops of the pastries with the egg wash.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze and drizzle over the pastries.
