A simple and delicious bread pudding served with a creamy vanilla sauce.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups of cubed stale bread
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the bread cubes and raisins, if using, to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the pudding is set and the top is golden.
  6. While the pudding bakes, prepare the vanilla sauce.
  7. In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of milk and 1/2 cup of sugar until warm.
  8. In a separate bowl, whisk 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of cold milk.
  9. Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the warm milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
  10. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla sauce drizzled on top.
  • Use any type of bread you have on hand.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
