A classic Italian dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese.

- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 package ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until thick.
- Heat milk in a saucepan, then whisk into egg mixture.
- Cook over low heat until it thickens, then cool.
- Fold in mascarpone cheese until smooth.
- Whip heavy cream and fold into the mascarpone mixture.
- Dip ladyfingers in coffee briefly and layer in a dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers and top with remaining mascarpone.
- Chill for at least 4 hours.
- Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
Notes
- Use strong coffee for best flavor.
- Do not soak ladyfingers for too long.
