Description

A traditional Dutch Christmas stollen filled with marzipan and dried fruits.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 200ml milk
  • 100g sugar
  • 100g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 10g yeast
  • 200g mixed dried fruits
  • 100g marzipan
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Fold in dried fruits and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Shape the dough and place marzipan in the center.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30-35 minutes.
  9. Let it cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for freshness.
  • Best served with powdered sugar on top.
  • Can be made a week in advance.
