Description
A traditional Dutch Christmas stollen filled with marzipan and dried fruits.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 200ml milk
- 100g sugar
- 100g butter
- 2 eggs
- 10g yeast
- 200g mixed dried fruits
- 100g marzipan
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it.
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- Add the yeast mixture, butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Fold in dried fruits and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Shape the dough and place marzipan in the center.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30-35 minutes.
- Let it cool before slicing.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for freshness.
- Best served with powdered sugar on top.
- Can be made a week in advance.
