Description

A simple and hearty beef stew made in a crockpot.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 3 potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Place the beef in the crockpot.
  2. Add the carrots, potatoes, onion, and garlic.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, and bay leaf.
  5. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  7. Remove the bay leaf before serving.

Notes

  • For thicker stew, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with cold water and stir into the stew 30 minutes before serving.
  • You can add other vegetables like peas or green beans.
