Ingredients
- Spaghetti: 300 grams (about 10.5 oz)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Heavy cream: 1 cup (240 ml)
- Parmesan cheese: 1 cup, grated
- Fresh parsley: 1/4 cup, chopped
- Salt and pepper: to taste
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Red pepper flakes: optional
- Cooked chicken or shrimp: optional
- Vegetables: optional (sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or broccoli)
- Lemon zest: optional
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add heavy cream to the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley. Serve warm, garnished with additional Parmesan and parsley.
