Ingredients
- Pasta: 300 grams of spaghetti or fettuccine
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Mushrooms: 250 grams of sliced button or cremini mushrooms
- Heavy cream: 200 milliliters
- Parmesan cheese: 100 grams, grated
- Fresh parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper: to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, reserving 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Lower the heat and pour in heavy cream, stirring well. Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until smooth.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir in chopped fresh parsley and serve warm, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
