Description
A comforting and delicious Creamy Beef and Tomato Pasta Bake that combines ground beef, creamy sauce, and pasta, all baked to perfection.
Ingredients
- Pasta: 300 g (about 10.5 oz) of penne or fusilli
 - Ground Beef: 500 g (about 1 lb)
 - Canned Tomatoes: 400 g (about 14 oz)
 - Heavy Cream: 200 ml (about ¾ cup)
 - Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped
 - Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
 - Cheese: 200 g, grated (about 2 cups) of cheddar or mozzarella
 - Italian Herbs: 1 teaspoon each of dried oregano and basil
 - Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
 - Salt and Pepper: to taste
 
Instructions
- Boil water in a large pot, add salt, and cook the pasta until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
 - In a skillet, heat olive oil, sauté onion and garlic until translucent, then add ground beef and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
 - Stir in canned tomatoes and heavy cream, simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
 - Combine cooked pasta with the creamy beef mixture in a large bowl, then transfer to a greased baking dish.
 - Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F), sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
 
Notes
- Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
 - Substitutions for ground beef include ground turkey, chicken, or lentils for a vegetarian option.
 - For a healthier version, use whole wheat pasta and add more vegetables.
