- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
- Spread barbecue sauce over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Spread mashed potatoes over the meatloaf.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
- Feel free to add your favorite vegetables to the meatloaf.
