Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 2 ½ cups (320 g)
  • Baking soda: 1 teaspoon (5 g)
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon (2.5 g)
  • Unsalted butter: 1 cup (226 g), softened
  • Granulated sugar: ¾ cup (150 g)
  • Brown sugar: ¾ cup (150 g), packed
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
  • Cotton candy flavoring: 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
  • Pastel sprinkles: ½ cup (about 90 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract and cotton candy flavoring.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in half of the pastel sprinkles.
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Press a few reserved sprinkles onto the tops of each cookie dough ball.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
