- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until creamy.
- Add vanilla and eggs; beat until well combined.
- Gradually add flour mixture; mix until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- For softer cookies, bake for a shorter time.
- Substitute chocolate chips with nuts for variety.
