Ingredients

  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the pastry sheets and place them on a baking tray.
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In a saucepan, heat milk and cream until just simmering.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks.
  6. Slowly add hot milk mixture to the egg mixture, whisking continuously.
  7. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.
  8. Stir in vanilla extract.
  9. Layer one sheet of pastry, followed by custard, and then the second pastry sheet.
  10. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
